Super Zombies

Super Zombies swaps the usual survivors and shamblers for cat gunners against an army of undead cats, and it plays it completely straight - the RPG structure underneath is a genuine progression loop, not a joke. Wins earn upgrades for your gunners, and those upgrades are what let you survive the next level rather than just look tougher, since the zombie cats scale up alongside you.

Each level ends with a boss fight against one of six undead cat commanders, and those fights are built around pattern recognition rather than raw firepower - the squad that has been upgraded in the right places gets through, while a squad upgraded at random usually stalls out at the boss.

How to play

Build a squad of cat gunners and send them into a level against waves of zombie cats. Spend earned upgrades between runs on your gunners rather than saving them, since the enemies get tougher every level and an unupgraded squad falls behind fast. Watch for the pattern in each boss fight - the six undead cat bosses repeat their attacks, and learning the pattern matters more than firing faster.
