This is a memory game that knows who it is for. The first board holds only four cards, which is small enough that a young child can win on the very first attempt, and that early win is what keeps them going. Boards grow from there, adding cards a few at a time rather than jumping to something overwhelming.
The art does real work here. Because every card shows a distinct character from Masha's forest rather than an abstract shape, kids remember positions by saying the name out loud, which is far easier than remembering a pattern. Two cards turn face up at a time; matching pairs stay open, and everything else flips back.
How to play
Click a card to turn it face up, then click a second one. If the two characters match, the pair stays revealed; if they do not, both flip back and you try again. Start with the four-card board and move up once you clear it. The useful habit is naming each character aloud as it appears, because a name is much easier to recall a few turns later than a position on the grid.
Controls
Mouse or touch. One click or tap turns a card over; a second card is turned the same way. There are no keyboard controls.
