Matryoshka Maker

Matryoshka Maker hands you a blank wooden nesting doll and lets you paint every piece of it separately - the body, the apron, the stand, the shirt and the scarf all take their own colors and patterns. There is a small souvenir to tuck into the doll's hands too, the kind of detail that turns a plain paint job into a doll that looks like it belongs on a shelf.

Working piece by piece is the whole appeal. A pattern that looks busy on the apron alone can look completely different once the scarf and shirt are sitting next to it, so the game rewards stepping back to check the full doll rather than committing to one piece at a time.

How to play

Click on a part of the matryoshka doll - body, apron, stand, shirt or scarf - to select it, then choose a color and pattern from the menu that appears. Work through each piece in turn, and place a small souvenir in the doll's hands to finish the design. Compare the full doll between changes rather than judging each piece alone, since colors read differently once every part is combined.

Controls

Left mouse button on desktop, tap and drag on a touchscreen. No keyboard is needed - every choice is made by clicking directly on the doll.
