Sharkdog Jigsaw Puzzle

Sharkdog Jigsaw Puzzle is a friendly picture with an awkward secret: the character is mostly one colour. A grey body, a paler belly, a fin, and very little else to tell one part of him from another. Half the pieces you pick up will look like they could go almost anywhere.

So you stop reading colour and start reading shape. The tabs and blanks on each piece narrow things down faster than the image does, and the few busy spots in the picture become worth far more than they look. Teeth, eyes, the curve where the fin meets his back, the line of the tail: find those four and the flat grey between them stops being guesswork.

How to play

Set the number of pieces you want, then move them from the side of the board into position one at a time. Begin with anything carrying detail, the grin and the eyes especially, since those are the only spots that can only be one place. After that, sort what is left by how the tabs stick out, and match a piece to the gap rather than hunting for the gap that fits the piece.

Controls

Everything happens by dragging. Hold the mouse button down on a piece, slide it over the board, and release it where you want it to sit; a piece near its home clicks in, and one that is wrong just waits there for you to try again. Touchscreens use the same press and slide with a finger.
