Morph Racers

Morph Racers is a race you cannot win on speed alone, because the track refuses to stay one thing. A stretch of road runs out into water, the water gives way to a climb, and then something turns up that nothing on wheels is getting past. Rivals run in the lanes beside you the whole way, so the gap between you shifts with every decision.

The answer is changing what you are. Car for the road, runner for the climb, boat for the water, helicopter for the obstacles that stop everything else. The choice itself is obvious; the timing is not. Switch late and the momentum is already gone, switch early and you are in the wrong shape for the ground still under you.

How to play

Watch the track ahead instead of the racer under you, because the point of every change is to be in the right form before the ground changes rather than after. Take the car along the road, the runner up the climbs, the boat across the water, and the helicopter over the obstacles nothing else clears. A switch timed well carries your speed straight through the transition, while a late one hands ground to whoever is running in the lane beside you. First to the finish line takes it.

Controls

The one thing in your hands is the transformation: choose the form the ground ahead calls for and your racer changes on the spot. A click and a tap do the same job, so the game plays the same way on a computer or a phone.
