Number Bee is a maths game for young children built around one character, a bee called Buzzy, and three places she flies through. The Honey Meadow, the Count Forest and the Number Hive each ask for something slightly different: counting things you can see, adding small amounts together, and recognising a number on sight.
The questions come in more than one shape, which matters at this age. Some are multiple choice, some ask a child to drag a honey drop into place, and some are matching. Three lives give a wrong answer a small consequence without ending the session, and progress is kept between levels, so a child who stops halfway does not start the meadow again the next day. Every correct answer pays out in honey.
How to play
Start in the Honey Meadow and work through the three areas in order. Read the question, then answer it the way that question wants: pick one of the options, drag a honey drop where it belongs, or match a pair. Three lives cover the mistakes, so a wrong answer is worth talking about rather than worrying about. Correct answers earn honey, and the game remembers which level a child reached.
Controls
Click an answer with the mouse to choose it. On a keyboard the number keys 1 to 4 pick the four options directly, which suits a child who has found where the numbers sit on the row. On a phone or tablet a tap does the choosing, and the honey drops are moved by touching one and dragging it into place.
