Sudoku

Sudoku here strips the game back to what makes it worth playing in the first place: a grid, a set of numbers, and nothing but logic standing between you and a finished board. The difficulty picker is the real design choice, running from an Easy mode built for winding down to an Insane setting that expects you to hold several chains of deduction in your head at once.

Nothing about the puzzle changes between difficulties except how much the grid gives away up front - the rules stay exactly the rules, so a win on Insane is earned the same way a win on Easy is, just with far less handed to you.

How to play

Pick a difficulty from Easy, Hard, Very Hard or Insane, then fill every row, column and 3x3 box with the numbers 1 through 9 without repeating any of them. Select an empty cell and enter a number to fill it, and clear a cell if you change your mind. Higher difficulties start with fewer numbers already placed, so more of the board has to come from deduction alone.

Controls

Mouse or tap to select a cell, then click or tap a number from the on-screen pad to fill it in. Use the erase button to clear a wrong entry.
