Abyssal Fish

Abyssal Fish drops you at the bottom of the sea, where there is no light and no sound, and puts you in charge of the ugliest thing down there. It is hungry, the small fish know it, and they scatter the moment you come near. That chase is the whole reason to keep swimming forward.

What makes it harder than a normal runner is that you cannot see what is coming. A few glowing fish light small patches of the route as you pass, and that flash is all the warning you get; a second later the obstacle is back in the dark and only your memory knows it is there. Reflexes get you past the first stretch, but remembering is what takes you deeper.

How to play

Steer the fish forward and eat the smaller ones before they get away, since they scramble as soon as you are close. Watch the lit stretches carefully: whatever they show you is what you will be swimming blind through a moment later, so note where the gaps are rather than where the walls are. Distance is the score, and the run ends the instant you hit something.

Controls

One input steers the fish, and nothing else is asked of you. A click on a computer or a tap on a touchscreen does the same job, so the whole game rests on choosing the moment rather than on learning a set of buttons.
