Captain Gold

Captain Gold is about throwing, not swinging. The Captain works a mine far from anywhere, and everything valuable in it is locked inside rock that will only give way to a hammer landing squarely on it. Your job is the throw: pick the moment, let it fly, and watch the stone break open.

Timing is the whole skill. Rocks, gold, diamonds and rubies pass in front of you rather than waiting politely to be hit, so a hammer released half a second early sails past nothing and is wasted. Get it right and the haul goes into the cart with him. The pace stays light throughout, but the later stretches leave less room between one good moment and the next.

How to play

Watch what is moving in front of the Captain and click at the moment a rock, a nugget or a gem lines up with your throw. The hammer flies straight out, so aiming is really a matter of when you let it go rather than where you point it. Broken stones drop their contents for him to load into the cart. Miss and the hammer is gone, so it is worth waiting a beat for a clean chance instead of throwing at everything.

Controls

A single click throws a hammer, and that is the entire control scheme. There is no aiming line to drag and no keys involved, so the left mouse button carries the whole game. On a phone or tablet, one tap on the screen does exactly the same thing.
