Mahjong Bird Tiles is solitaire mahjong at a calm pace, with bird artwork on the faces instead of the traditional suits. The rule that decides everything is what counts as free: a tile has to be uncovered on top and open on at least one side before you can pair it with its twin.
That single condition is the whole puzzle. A board can hold four copies of the same bird, and taking the wrong two early buries the pair you actually needed under a layer you can no longer reach. There is no timer pushing you, so the sensible habit is to scan the whole stack for what a match will free up before clicking anything.
How to play
Select two tiles that show the same bird and are both free, and they lift off the board together. A tile is free when nothing is stacked on top of it and either its left or its right edge is exposed. Keep removing pairs until the board is empty to finish the level. Before you take an obvious match, look at what each tile is holding down - opening the layer underneath matters more than clearing fast.
Controls
Use the mouse or a touchpad to click one free tile and then its match; the pair clears the moment both are selected. On a touch screen, tap the two tiles instead.
