Pair Up Shapes is built for the age where a child is still learning that a shape stays the same shape wherever it sits on the screen. Each round puts a shape in front of them and asks for its partner, and the answer is given by touching it or dragging one piece across to the other. Nothing runs out and nothing is lost, so a wrong tap costs nothing.
The presentation does the teaching as much as the matching does - strong colours, pieces large enough for small fingers, and a friendly animation when a pair lands. It is the kind of game a parent can hand over and leave running, and it works just as well read aloud with a parent naming each shape.
How to play
Look at the shape shown on screen, then find its match among the others. On a phone or tablet, tap the matching shape; on a computer, hold the left mouse button and drag the piece across to where it belongs. A correct pair is confirmed straight away and the next one comes up. There is no timer and no score to lose, so children can take as long as they need on each round.
Controls
Tap the matching shape on a touchscreen. On a computer, hold the left mouse button to drag a piece onto its match. Those are the only two inputs the game uses.
