Rocketcar Cup

Rocketcar Cup is football played by rocket-powered cars in two dimensions, which strips the idea back to its best part: the scramble. Boost gets you to the ball first, flips let you hit it in the air, and hard hits send it further than a normal touch ever would. Because the arena is small and the ball is always in play, matches are a constant exchange of chances rather than a build-up. The mistake most new players make is boosting everywhere - boost is limited, and spending it to chase a ball you were never going to reach leaves you stranded when the counter comes.

How to play

Drive at the ball to hit it, and use boost to reach it first. Save boost for when you can actually reach the ball - chasing a lost cause leaves you with nothing when the counter-attack comes, which is the mistake that decides most matches. Use the hard hit for clearances and flips to strike the ball in the air. Two players can share one keyboard.

Controls

W A S D to drive, Shift to boost, Q for a hard hit. On mobile, use the on-screen joystick with the blue button for boost and the yellow for a hard hit.
