Solitaire Spider

Solitaire Spider is the patient end of the card table. Ten columns of cards face you, most of them hidden, and the only move available is stacking one card onto another that ranks a single step higher. Nothing is scored, nothing is timed, and there is no opponent - the deck is the whole problem.

The satisfying part is the moment a column finally runs clean from king down to ace and lifts off the board in one piece. Getting there means thinking a few moves ahead about which face-down card you are trying to free, because every deal from the stock drops a card onto all ten columns at once and can bury the work you just did.

How to play

Cards sit in ten columns, and you move one onto any card that is a single rank higher - a nine goes onto a ten, a queen onto a king. Uncovering a face-down card flips it over and gives you something new to work with. When a column holds a complete run from king down to ace, it clears the table. If no move is left, take a fresh deal from the stock, which lands one card on every column at once.

Controls

Everything happens with the mouse. Click a card and drag it onto the column you want it in, then release; clicking the stock pile deals the next row. On a touchscreen the same drag works with your finger.
