Dungeon Chess

Dungeon Chess borrows chess's board logic and hands you a deck of cards instead of free movement. Your hero acts like a single chess piece dropped into a room full of monsters, and every action - moving, attacking, using an ability - comes from a card you choose to play rather than a move you are free to make. That turns each fight into a small planning puzzle: play the wrong card early and your hero can end up cornered with nothing useful left for the monster closing in.

Chess knowledge helps but is not required, since each piece's movement is simple to learn within a game or two. The real skill is reading the board and holding the right card for the moment that needs it.

How to play

Start a run, then on your turn choose a card showing a chess piece's movement or ability. Tap the board cell you want your hero to move to or attack, following that piece's normal movement pattern. Monsters act after you, so plan a card that also leaves you in a safe position rather than just the one that deals the most damage this turn.
